What is a 360 Photo Booth?

A 360 photo booth is an interactive video recording booth that captures video footage of a person or group of people from all angles. Unlike a traditional photo booth, this typically involves using a phone or camera rigged or mounted to an adjustable booth arm which spins around the elevated booth platform recording all angles. The resulting footage is captured using a 360 photo booth software such as Lumabooth, Touchpix, and Snappic with the ability to instantly share the video with any device and on social media platforms. Each software will offer a range of effects from green screen to overlays, sound effects to filters in addition to the popular slow-motion and boomerang video effect. The length of each footage varies from 6 – 30 seconds, a great length to share on Instagram reels, Tiktok, Youtube shorts and Facebook stories.

How Does a 360 Photo Booth Work?

The 360 photo booth comes in two categories: manual and automatic.  The manual booth is controlled by holding the 360 booth arm and pushing it to rotate it around the platform.  This allows you to control the speed of the arm and the ability to start and stop at will.  There are advantages and disadvantages to this platform. The manual booth can be exhausting to use over a 3-4 hour hire with the continuous pushing of the booth arm. This process is more time consuming especially if you have a large crowd to cater to. On the other hand, the ability to use the 360 booth anywhere whether power permits or not is a plus coupled with the fact that they are cheaper, lighter and much safer than the automatic photo booths.

The automatic 360 photo booth provides ease with the use of a remote control to facilitate the spinning of the 360 booth arm with adjustabel speed. The motorised platform will need to be connected to a mains power source or a charged power pack if power is not available at the venue.  Most, if not all, of these 360 booths will have an attached ring light, a phone and an iPad holder, Unlike the manual, the continuous use of the 360 booth can take a toll on the motor and belt installed under the platform which will have to be replaced if either of them stopped functioning.

What Sizes Are Available for a 360 Photo Booth?

68CM – 26″

This is the smallest of them all. Holding only one person or 2 small children, this platform is extremely portable and appropriate for small events or clients with limited budgets. As the smallest booth, it is also the cheapest range depending on where you source your 360 photo booth ranging from £700 – £1200 without a flight case.

80CM – 31.5″

This is probably the most common size of the 360 booths. A great addition to a medium sized event, this platform will hold up to 3 people or 4 small children. It is still portable enough for any individual and does not require that much space to operate. This size of booth will set you back around £1000 – £1500 without a flight case.

100CM – 40″

As a much larger platform this 360 photo booth holds up to 5 people and 7 small children. Extremely heavy so an assistant will be required to help with the transportation and set up of the booth. With prices ranging from £1300 – £2000, this booth is just right for large scale events.

115CM – 45″

This is the grand daddy of all 360 booths. Holding up to 7 people or 10 small children, the 45″ platform is great for festivals and large scale corporate events

Some companies also offer packages that include additional features and services, such as software, branding, and additional props which can also affect the overall cost.
